Hypnosis is a naturally occuring state. We all enter into a hypnotic state at least twice a day (usually several more times than this), when we are in between the sleeping and the awake state.
You are aware of all that goes on around you, you hear everything, and you are in total control. In fact, you choose whether to accept or reject an suggestions.
Have you ever been in a meeting, and found yourself not concentrating on the proceedings. suddenly, with a start, you realise you have been asked a question. You surprise yourself by knowing what is going on, without realising.
Or have you ever driven to work, and suddenly realised you did not remember passing a landmark.
You were in trance. Fully able, and seeing and hearing everything, and in control.
